Q. How do you foresee “India” as a potential market, what are the prospects for make in India?

India is fast developing into one of the top manufacturing hubs across the world. There are multiple reasons for the positive industry sentiment for local manufacturing. The government’s flagship ‘Make-in-India’ program and Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan (Self-Reliant India Movement) are the key drivers to boost local manufacturing. They are helping to lower dependence on imports and boost local production of high-value products. The other reasons that are helping to regain the momentum for local manufacturing include, economic stability, robust legal system, cost effective labour, skilled workforce, high quality production, cost savings on import duties, domestic market demand and ease of doing business.

Our vision is to be aligned with the government of India’s ‘Make-in-India’ program and Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan (Self-Reliant India Movement) to transform India into a global design and manufacturing hub. Through the local state-of-the-art manufacturing plant, Prama Hikvision is providing its wide range of products and solutions to a fast expanding domestic market.

We have the future roadmap for the multi-dimensional concept products, the industrial automation solutions, material management solutions (Robotics) and convergence based security solutions.

Q. What are the distinguishing facts of global market as against the Indian market?

The Indian security market is the third largest security market after the US and China. It is highly price sensitive and fragmented market compared to the matured security markets in the US, North America, Europe and Gulf Region.

The Indian security market is one of the most dynamic ecosystem, where growth and opportunities are abound. It is one of the fastest growing security markets across the world. The exponential growth, high demand and extreme price sensitivity, are some of its unique features, but it also has the resilience and adaptability to new disruptive technologies and trends. The scale and size of the Indian security market remain unmatched compared to the other parts of the world.

The government led Homeland security, Smart City and Critical Infrastructure Verticals, are expected to see more demand in 2021-22. These verticals hold the big projects in terms of size, scope and scale. The other verticals in private domain that are expected to gain momentum are, Transportation, Education, Retail, Hospitality and Tourism. We are expecting rollout of lots of pending projects and tenders that were put on hold due to lockdown and pandemic situation.

Q. What were the challenges that you faced and how you overcame those challenges during the time of the Establishment of Prama Hikvision?

The entrepreneurial mindset has always helped us to overcome the challenges. There were innumerable challenges during the formative phase of Prama Hikvision, but when faced those challenges with best of our capabilities, they turned out to be opportunities. Today, we owe our success to those challenges.

When we started out on journey of setting up a manufacturing plant, the biggest challenge for the project was to create a roadmap for fast track implementation. We studied all the aspects of local and foreign manufacturing plants. We met several experts and consultants to discuss and validate the plan. We found out that key challenges in setting up a local manufacturing plant were related to finalising the suitable location and land with better road connectivity. The other key challenges included finalizing plant machinery and making the plant ready for production in a record time. The operational challenges were higher cost of logistics, productivity related issues and infrastructure related shortcomings.

Despite these challenges, there are some advantages that the manufacturing sector in India gets, which includes familiar legal system, cost effective labour, availability of skilled workforce, high quality production, domestic market and availability of raw material.

Q. According to you what are the factors that Evolve into New Directions for your business?

The security solutions market has evolved exponentially with time and there are some good opportunities emerging in technology integration, product development, application development, software development and solution integration. On the technology frontier, Artificial Intelligence, IoT, Big Data, Blockchain, Automation and Robotics, are the new directions where security industry is reinventing itself.

Q. What is your Future Roadmap vision and Growth Strategy for the company in coming years?

We are consistently working on the ‘Make-in-India’ vision and future roadmap over the years. Apart from various marketing strategies the cornerstone of our growth strategy has remained Customer Centricity.

We as a responsible Indian corporate organization are putting our best efforts and commitment towards Digital India, Skill India and Make-in–India programs to support the government initiatives. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Vasai near Mumbai is a shining example of our long term commitment towards ‘Make-in-India’ vision. We have made a big ticket investment of Rs. 500 Cr. So far and plans are underway to do more investment.

Prama Hikvision has partnered with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) to offer security technology training for India’s youth. The company is providing security and video surveillance products and technology related training and certification programs HCSA and HCSP by collaborating with the Skill India program of NSDC. We are happy and proud to be associated with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) with a unique two year partnership contract. It is our endeavour to impart training with all the necessary technical skills so that India’s youth can turn into successful entrepreneurs in the security industry. The HCSA and HCSP training and certification programs are helpful to enhance the skills and knowhow of installers, system integrators and security professionals and have the requisite skills needed for the future.

Q. What’s the Million dollar message you would like to tell our Readers?

We are grateful to our partners and end-users for their consistent support and unshakable trust. We are hopeful that security market will get back to its peak performance level. Though the pandemic situation had created a major challenge for the security industry, but a resilient approach has helped us to win over the odds.

We are upbeat about the growth prospects and emerging opportunities that are evolving in the Indian security solutions market. In the next three years security industry will see the highest growth due to various factors at play, we are aligning our targets with these new opportunities by ramping up the manufacturing plant for production.
